Dangers of vaccination/homeopathic alternative
So – what are the alternatives? You can be sure that CHC does not advocate leaving dogs totally unprotected against viral disease. It is, however, possible to protect your dogs without risking vaccine adverse effects. Firstly, though, it’s important to understand that even vaccines do not guarantee protection. Dogs who are fully vaccinated can (and do) still come down with the diseases they were vaccinated against. Nothing is guaranteed.
Whatever you do to protect your dog it is ultimately ensuring he has an immune system that will withstand the challenge of disease. Using nosodes, Transfer Factor, and having the right diet provides that. There are breeders and individuals who have adopted the 'strong immune system' policy and not vaccinated at all, all over the world and their dogs live a disease free and healthy life.
In fact by avoiding unnecessary vaccines (and other drugs) vet bills are ridiculously low compared to those who listen to the 'experts', and often go through life with only the occasional sprain/cut paw or similar minor ailment.
Of course no animal's body can go a whole life without something happening (and often there is a benefit for the body to be challenged and to re-establish it's strength), and no-one has ever stated that this isn't the case, whatever you do - but a naturally reared dog does not go through anything like what a conventionally reared dog does. The so-called 'experts' will say that is all anecdote - but when there are thousands of people all over the world with healthy dogs that don't come down with disease, then surely 'anecdote' shows science a thing or two about 'truth'.
What seems to be an issue that confuses matters is about re-vaccination. We already know that 'once immune to viral disease, immune for years or life', and that you can titer test (in the vet's surgery at a similar price to a vaccine, and get results in 20 minutes) to show that re-vaccination is totally pointless, of no further benefit (you can't make someone more immune), and risks adverse reaction for the sake of no actual benefit.
A strong immune system is what everyone, everywhere, should aim for regardless of the vaccine issue, and I don't think there could even be a debate about that from anyone on any side of the issues.
