Separation Anxiety
This is basically when a dog is either left too long on its own, or if a behavioural problem exists so that he/she doesn't feel comfortable being left to whatever level.
We have all heard stories of excessive barking and household furniture being destroyed. It can also show itself in other ways, like soiling the house, over-excitement, or even aggression.
If you have a dog that has this problem, then there are two probable reasons:
1) There is an existing issue with the particular dog that needs a behavioural plan to help with this.
or
2) You are leaving your dog on his/her own too long!!

A dog's behaviour is only a result of how he/she is feeling in the situation you have created for him/her.
If you've left them too long, then you're going to know about it. Even if it seems an ok time for you - it might not be for that particular dog.
Never think that just because your dog hasn't pee'd in the house, or tore something up, that it is ok to leave him/her for hours at a time - your dog is a sociable family friend that is dependant upon you and loves you. The least you can do is return that love by providing a happy and fullfilling life. And if he/she is telling you something the least you can do is listen and respond in the best way possible.
