Flaxseed Oil and Cottage Cheese
The Flaxseed (Linseed) oil diet was developed by the late Dr. Johanna Budwig, a German biochemist and expert on fats and oils. Dr. Budwig found that the blood of seriously ill cancer patients was deficient in phosphatides and lipoproteins, while the blood of healthy people always contains sufficient quantities of these essential ingredients.
She found that when these nutrients where replaced over approximately a three month period, tumors gradually receded, weakness and anaemia disappeared, and vitality was restored. Symptoms of cancer, liver dysfunction and diabetes were alleviated.
Dr. Budwig developed a way of delivering these two nutrients together with organic flax seed oil and cottage cheese. She found that cancer can be prevented and even cured. Organic flax seed oil and cottage cheese must be bonded together by blending with an electric blender to be effective. The ratio is two parts cottage cheese to one part flax oil. A human requires three tablespoons of flax oil and six tablespoons of cottage cheese twice daily, so reduce the amount depending upon the size of your dog.
Testimonials can be found for almost every type of cancer and tumors, even late stage.
According to Dr Budwig, dogs and cats will benefit from eating RAW cancer-fighting vegetables but do not give them fruit. Chop up, grate or put through a food processor various raw cancer-fighting vegetables: carrots, tomatoes, Romaine lettuce, cabbage, beets, broccoli, cauliflower, etc. mixed with a fresh raw egg, some raw chicken, fish or various raw meats. Plus, continue flax oil and cottage cheese one or two times a day depending on tolerance.
The Cancer Treatment
Dr Johanna Budwig recommends a ratio of one tablespoon Flax Oil per 1/4 cup of cottage cheese. Dr. Budwig uses three tablespoons of flax oil mixed with 3/4 cup of cottage cheese per 100 pounds of body weight for ill patients. However, depending on the severity of the cancer, up to six tablespoons can be taken, mixed with a corresponding amount of cottage cheese. If you want to take more than one tablespoon, ease into it. Flax is 100% oil, so if you do not normally eat a lot of fat, allow your body time to adjust.
Why Cottage Cheese?
Don't leave out the cottage cheese. It is every bit as important as the flax in this approach. A highly sulpherated protein is necessary for the flax to achieve optimum results and cottage cheese is one of the highest sulphur-based proteins. If you can not eat sulphur, tofu may be used in place of cottage cheese.

This is one potential cancer cure that will certainly do no harm, although if a dog is prone to pancreatitis, you might also add digestive enzymes to help him cope with the high fat content of this diet.
I have personally known two people who successfully treated their dogs’ cancer with the Budwig diet.
