Docking is where a dog's tail is amputated, generally as a puppy.
Docking, it is generally deemed to be a cruel practice and is unlawful in some countries unless medically required, or in others where the dog is certified as a working dog.

Tradition is tradition, and human nature is human nature - but if you look at things from the dog's perspective then I'm sure he'd choose what nature gave him.
If a dog has a problem because of something a human wants to do with him, then perhaps we should look at what human's try to do with dogs rather than blame the dog for having a tail.
