The word 'booster' gives the impression that the immune system is 'boosted' - that your dog will become more immune. This is simply incorrect - you cannot become more immune. And in practice the veterinary industry uses the word 'booster' as an alias for your dog to be re-vaccinated on a yearly (or three yearly) basis.
The truth is that 'once immune, then immune for years or life', as stated by the World Small Animal Veterinary Association.
There is simply no reason to re-vaccinate on a yearly, three yearly, or otherwise basis if your dog is already immune. A simple, inexpensive, quick, in-practice titer test is available to check to see if your dog is immune to disease.
